After spending the first half of the 2006 cycling season in Belgium racing for my first professional team Yawadoo Colba, It is nice to be home. I raced with a great group of cyclists. They were all tough racers and great teammates to race with. I'm going to miss them. My director Eric Vanderaerden is a great person to ride for. He was always encouraging and looked out for the best interests of the young professional racers he was responsible for. I consider Eric a friend. I learned in the first half of this season so much about the sport of road racing and myself as a cyclist. I'm ever so thankful for that experience. The experience will help me for the rest of my cycling career.
I have not raced on an American Team since I raced for Laura Charmeda's junior development team,Team Swift. I feel I'm at a stage in my career now before returning to Europe that I should race in America for awhile. I have many cycling friends who I've raced with since I was a junior here in America. We came up together through the cycling ranks. Racing in America for a while will give me a chance to reconnect.
I was fortunate to have gotten a contract with Jonathan Vaughter's team TIAA-CREF for the remainder of this 2006 Season. I'm very thankful to Jonathan and TIAA-CREF for providing me the opportunity to race for them. I'll give it my all, to help the TIAA-CREF Team continue it's tradition of success.
